Curious Puppy Gets Trapped In Tire. When Vet Can’t Free Him, He Calls In Reinforcements.

A curious puppy named Blaze found himself in a precarious position on Monday after getting his little head stuck in the wheel of a tire. The 8 month old coonhound was wandering around his owner’s property when he managed to sniff his way into a world of trouble from which there was no escape. After a quick search, Blaze’s family found the poor pup and drove him straight to St. Francis Animal Hospital in Butte, Montana, tire and all.

After getting a good look at the Blaze, St. Francis called the local fire department asking if they could help free Blaze from his self imposed prison. With a lot of coconut oil, patience, ear tucking, and some powerful skin pulling, Firefighter Zach Osborne was able to free Blaze with “his brute strength.”

Throughout his ordeal Blaze remained calm, cool, and collected as the fire fighters, vet staff and his family crowded around to comfort him.

It’s amazing how dogs can adapt to stressful situations.

While Fire Marshal Doherty “completed the daunting task of ear tucking” and Firefighter Osborne “used his brute strength” to free him, I think we can all agree that Blaze is the real MVP.

While the family may want to consider ‘puppy proofing’ their property, we think that Blaze learned a very valuable lesson in caution. Blaze wasn’t the first pup to find himself in a precarious situation and he won’t be the last, but here’s to a happy ending!
