Out of Nowhere Professor Snatches Student’s Baby During Lecture, The Reason Is Too Beautiful.

Dr. Willoughby, a professor at, Baylor University, did an incredibly compassionate deed when one of his students brought her baby into class.

His student, Katy Humphrey, had to bring her baby to school because her sitter canceled last minute. To make the situation worse, she couldn’t get her daughter to stop crying. But rather than asking Katy to excuse herself, Willoughby responded swiftly, grabbing her baby so that Humphrey could pay attention.  He continued to hold the child for the remainder of the class.

Soon enough Humphrey’s baby was asleep and couldn’t be calmer… and it’s important to note that the professor kept teaching throughout the entire thing. Here is Katy’s account of what happened:

“Dr. Willoughby said if I ever needed to bring her to class, he was OK with it, so it made me feel relieved to know I would be able to learn and take care of my daughter,” Humphrey said.

Professor Willoughby noted, “I didn’t do it for myself. It’s just about me looking out for and taking care of my students. It was an issue more so just her being able to feel more comfortable and relaxed in class.”

And Willoughby, a father of two, clearly knows what he’s doing.

“I carried her around for almost an hour and she was totally content. We never heard a peep out of her the entire class.”

Willoughby stated, “We’ve become not only professor and student, but friends. We have a really nice bond.”

Isn’t that the perfect example of a real teacher?  Lessons of compassion and love… we could all use more of that.
