Restaurant Owner Helps Floridian Couple With Car Trouble, Then Waitress Hands Them Envelope.

After a terrible tragedy such as Hurricane Irma, many of us look to stories of “the helpers” for comfort.

There have been so many stories of heroes risking their lives to save those affected, but we’ve also seen that you don’t have to be in the thick of the disaster to make a difference. Some of the most impactful, hopeful stories are those of simple acts of kindness. This is one such story.

Floridian, Deanna Feist and her husband, were traveling in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee when Irma struck. The pair decided to extend their stay rather than return home to Brandon, Florida when they heard of the devastation.

As if the stress of wondering what could be happening to their home wasn’t bad enough, Deanna says their car broke down on the way to The Old Mill Restaurant for lunch.

“We asked the gentleman in the car next to us if we could get a jump, he happily helped us out. As I went inside to put our names on the waitlist, he told my husband he was the manager and he would get us in right away. His name was Mo, and he had been running the restaurant for 23 years.”

Mo got a table and lunch for the couple right away. But when it came time to pay the bill, a waitress dropped an envelope on the table and informed the pair that their meals were “on the house.”

Not only that, the envelope contained a voucher for future free meals, $200 cash, and the letter below

“This act of selflessness and generosity has touched my heart,” said Deanna. “There are still good people out there! I promise I will pay it forward! This man is a God send.”

Deanna later posted an update on Facebook, saying she and her husband made it back to Brandon without any further car trouble and found there had no damage to their home.
