If you were anywhere near the internet last May, you’ll remember the hilarious antics of the now world famous ‘Chewbacca Mom.’ Candace Payne was walking through her local Kohl’s department store when she spied an adorable Chewbacca mask sitting on the shelf. The fun, loving lady snapped the mask up without a second thought and already had it on by the time she got to the car.
Payne posted a Facebook live video of her first time wearing the mask, and the hilarious, joyful result took the internet by storm. In just few weeks, more than 100 million people were laughing right along with Chewbacca Mom. Her message? Be joyful! A message the Mom in this story heard loud and clear.
Just after the new year, Katie Curtis went into labor with her first child. After being rushed to the hospital and starting the long wait for delivery, Curtis apparently had the wherewithal to ask for a Chewbacca mask herself, and the result was just too good not to share.
“Just because I’m about to be a mom doesn’t mean I have to grow up! Bwahahahahs never take life too seriously! Best Christmas gift ever!”
And so, in the midst of labor pains, she used the mask to bring a little bit of humor to her situation.
