We will never truly understand the incredible amount of sacrifice our veterans make to protect this country, but we can still do our best to ensure those who vow to protect us get the respect they deserve.
Clemson University is doing their part to honor our armed forces with their annual Military Appreciation Week. The campus actually started as a military school and now boasts 10,000 alums who have served in the armed forces.
As part of the special week, Clemson football invited Brig. Gen. Austin E. Renforth to give a speech to the football team after practice.

Renforth is the commanding general of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. His speech reminds us that, in life– whether you’re in the military or a college football player– it’s not about the individual, it’s about the team.

“You think I don’t get pre-game jitters when I load my weapon? Looking at my Marines? Thinking have I prepared them for what they’re about to do? The very best of our teams do those things because they love each other,” Renford tells the team.

“It’s amazing what you can accomplish if no one cares who gets the credit.”
