Having family home for the holidays is often the best gift we can receive. Iit’s especially poignant for the men and women who serve our country and can’t always be there for life’s big moments.
One family from Norwalk, California knows all too well how heartbreaking it is to be separated from a loved one, but this Thanksgiving, their special soldier surprised them in the best possible way!

The family was setting the scene for a Thanksgiving-themed Mannequin Challenge. The Mannequin Challenge is a video in which all of the people in it stand perfectly still, as if frozen in time.
As the camera began to pan through the house, we saw family members looking in the fridge, handing each other plates, and generally presenting a still life of your typical American Turkey Day. But then, the front door opens, and in walks their son!

The family instantly abandons the video as they rush to smother the soldier in hugs. Watching more family members come inside and shriek with joy when they seem him is completely heart-melting. Just look at the little ones joining in the hug pile!
