Tro’juan Henderson is the kind of Lyft driver you’d be lucky to find yourself riding with. The young Dallas, TX man recently took to Twitter to share an important PSA for anyone thinking of getting a Lyft or Uber while intoxicated. Two weeks ago, Henderson was called to a local bar to pick up a young lady who had too much to drink. Henderson was met outside by the young lady’s friends, who handed him her keys and asked that he ensure she get home safely.
Though their intentions were obviously good, Henderson rejected the ride for the safety of the young woman, and that of himself. Henderson posted a video to YouTube the day after the incident to share his thoughts on safety and how best to avoid a sexual assault. We all need to hear his wise words.

Henderson’s words quickly went viral as people resonated with his pointed, passionate perspective. We will never live in a perfect world, so while we are here it’s our individual responsibility to promote respect and love over cat-calling and harassment… and make a stand when we witness such abuse.
