Kitten Rescued After Hurricane Matthew, Sends Internet Into Frenzy Over Tiny Tube Sock Sweater.

A tiny sock-wearing kitten melted hearts on Sunday amid the deadly damage and repercussions of Hurricane Matthew. Twitter user @crysomemore posted pictures of the adorable kitten that have now been re-tweeted more than 70,000 times. The best part? The little turtleneck sweater was fashioned from a tube sock.

The Twitter user was visiting her local Pet Smart in Raleigh, North Carolina, to buy an ID tag for her cat. She noticed a father and two children looking at the adoption section looking for a new pet. She overheard a petsmart employee offer to bring out a kitten. Someone had brought the little one to PetSmart’s Banfield Pet Hospital the previous day, when the torrential downpour of Hurricane Matthew was at its peak.

Crysomemore just happens to be a huge cat person, so decided to peek around the corner and see what there was to see. The result has gone viral for the most obvious reason.

“The vet assistant brings her out and both he and his kids are OBVIOUSLY IN LOVE,” the Twitter user wrote in her post.

After getting permission from mom, the family immediately adopted the kitten and bought the supplies needed for her.
