A Major League Baseball game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals this Wednesday ended with an unexpected twist.
It was the bottom of the sixth inning, the Cardinals had the bases loaded, and all eyes in Busch Stadium were on the field. Suddenly, the crowd bursts into laughter as a furry figure dashes right through the game: a tiny kitten!
The rambunctious kitten bolts across the field to the sound of the crowd’s thunderous applause. The commentators can’t stop laughing as the creature makes its way past fielder Lorenzo Cain.

A stadium employee chases the kitty down but soon learns it’s not going anywhere without a fight!

No one like getting bitten or scratched, but the crowd can’t help but laugh at the poor staffer as he attempts to keep hold of the fierce feline. But don’t worry; he got away with little more than a flesh wound.

Moments later, the game resumed, and Cardinals player Yadier Molina hit a grand slam! The kitten– since dubbed “Rally Cat”– must be good luck!
“I’m not a cat person,” said Cardinals manager Mike Matheny, “but I sure like that one!”

The staffer who captured the kitten handed it off to a woman who claims to be the owner, but the cat soon jumped out of her arms and took off. It hasn’t been seen since, but we can only assume it’s out there somewhere, interrupting more sporting events and hopefully spreading some good luck!
