Sprinter Ruptured Achilles Mid-Race, But Watch Her INCREDIBLE, Heart-Wrenching Finish.

Idaho State runner Shelby Erdahl showed an outstanding amount of courage, strength and heart during the Big Sky Track and Field Championship at the University of Northern Colorado. A senior at the school, nothing was going to stop Shelby from finishing her 400-meter hurdle race… even a ruptured Achilles tendon.

It was at the beginning of the race when she hurt her left tendon, an injury that causes excruciating pain. But rather than quit and seek medical attention, Erdal refused to stop. She finished the race, stepping over every hurdle to avoid a disqualification.

But what fueled her fire to keep going? “It was a longtime goal of mine to score for my team in the 400m hurdles,” Erdahl told CBSSports.com. “And since I had made the finals all I needed to do was finish. I never really thought of stopping. To me that would have let myself, my team and my coaches down.”

To watch her go through such pain and agony is nothing short of cringe-worthy. However, the bravery behind every step is an absolute inspiration! Since then, Shelby has gone through surgery for her injury, and we pray that her healing will go without problem.

If we allow ourselves to stay focused, passionate and driven, our goals will seem closer than ever. Watch Shelby exemplify all of those traits in a race she’ll never forget and SHARE today!
