19 Years After Rise To Superstardom, Hanson Reunites To Perform Acoustic Version Of ‘MMMBop.’

Way back in 1997 brothers Issac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson took the world by storm with their smash hit ‘MMMBop.’ They were 11, 14, and 16 years old. The pop ballad stole the hearts of teenagers all over and launched the group to superstardom seemingly overnight. The sensations, known as Hanson, have sold over 17 million records in the last 20 years.

The band isn’t ashamed of their one-hit-wonder rise to stardom. They still play their hit ‘MMMBop’ and other songs from their youth, but that doesn’t bother the group.

“We have never run from our past. We definitely still sing ‘MMMBop’. When we do concerts, we still play old songs,” said youngest member Zac, now 30. Isaac is now 35, and Taylor is 33.

The song still means a lot to the band. The lyrics deal with the tougher aspects of life, and are still relevant to them -and us- today.

“It does tap into a theme we’ve continued to have, which is to interweave relatively serious thoughts – the verses, you know, ‘You have so many relationships in this life / Only one or two will last / You go through so much pain and strife / You turn your back and they’re gone so fast.’ It’s not exactly sunshine and rainbows,” he said.

Check out the reunion show in the video below! It’s such a fun blast from the past.
