Mom Captures Dad Talking Newborn Through Shots & It’s The Sweetest Thing!

dad shots pep talk

As a parent, seeing your child in pain is worse than experiencing it ourselves. We’d simply do anything to keep them safe and protected from the slings and arrows of life.

New dad Antwon Lee from Dalton, Georgia, experienced this feeling for the first time when he brought his newborn son, Debias King, to the pediatrician to get his first round of vaccine shots. As the tiny infant gazes into his father’s eyes, Antwon comforts him and gives him a pep talk to get him through the pain.

“It’s okay to cry,” Antwon murmurs to the wide-eyed baby in his lap. “You’re gonna be alright.”

Antwon decided to share this tender father-son moment on his Facebook page, and before long the clip had gone viral. Every parent who saw it recognized the feeling of wishing you could take the pain of those needles away!

Antwon told Scary Mommy that he made the video public because “people are loving him and I want them all to see him grow up.” He also wants to be a role model for other young fathers out there, reminding them to be present in their kids’ lives – for the good and not-so-good moments.

“I want fathers to be in their child’s life,”he said. “Every father should take care of their child and show up for things like doctor’s appointments.â€

Spending time with his son is paramount to Antwon, especially considering he’s currently grieving the loss of his own father. His father passed away on the very day that he shared this video online.

“I signed up for fatherhood,” he said. “And I thank God that I did.â€

Little Debias is certainly lucky to have such a wonderful father in his life!
