“Vertically Challenged” Grandma Slips On Stepstool, Feet Fly Up As She Falls Headfirst Into Baby’s Crib.

Valerie Sharp reached over to put her grandchild in her crib, she never imagined it would result in her becoming an instant viral sensation on the internet. “Vivi” as her grandchildren call her, has a tiny stature but a huge heart for taking care of her grandkids. She usually uses stepstools to do tasks around the house and also to put her grandchildren Reed, 2, and Lola, 11 months, into their cribs.

Vivi watches the babies while their mother is at work. “If I don’t use the step stool, my arms are a foot away from the bottom of the crib,” Valerie explained. “I would have to drop the baby onto the mattress, and she would wake up.”

The 61-year-old grandmother went to put Lola into her crib and somehow winded up in the crib with her in an embarrassing physics fail.

“I really don’t know how it happened, because I have done this a hundred times before, but I think I just got top-heavy,” Vivi said.

Fortunately, the grandmother missed falling on the baby in the crib.

“It kind of happened rather quickly,” Sharp said. “I was so thankful that, the way that I had her in my arms, my body didn’t touch her or hit her in any way as I went down. The worst that happened was that I jolted the mattress, and with that, she woke up.”

All the while, Lola’s mother and Vivi’s daughter, Nikki Bishop saw her mother’s funny fall on a baby monitor and decided to share it on Facebook, never expecting it would get viewed over 21 million times!

“When I posted it, I thought it would get a good laugh, and I was surprised when it got 90 views,” Nikki said. “I said, ‘Mom, I’ve got to tell you something.’ My mom said, ‘Oh my gosh, everybody is looking at my butt!'”

Vivi is happy her embarrassment can bring so many people laughs and joy.

“My friend said to me, ‘You’ve made millions of people laugh or smile today,’ so I guess that’s a good thing,” she said. “I did feel bad it happened, and I am glad we are both okay. But I think people need a good laugh right now.”

We definitely needed this laugh!
