Watch: ‘The Daddy Hair Factory’ Brings Dads And Daughters Together One Braid At A Time

Phil Morgese was a single dad trying to be the best father he could to his daughter Emma. Instead of letting their differences keep them from spending time together, Morgese realized he needed to meet his daughter where she was, in interests and in life.

He realized that braiding Emma’s hair when she was getting ready for school was his own small way of spending quality time with his daughter. “Raising a kid is so complex. Doing hair is simple.” It made such a difference in their relationship, he knew he was onto something and decided to show other dads how easy spending time with their daughters can be.

So he started ‘The Daddy Hair Factory’.

The Factory’s mission was simple, to help bring dads and daughters closer together. In a matter of months, he was teaching dozens of well-intentioned dads how to spend time with the daughters they love by parting, braiding, and pinning their hair.

“Everything about it is trying to build up her confidence, trying to teach her how a man should be in her life… it’s just about being involved!” Morgese says in the video below.

There are now 4 different classes in Texas, Pennsylvania, Kansas and Indiana! The program is helping dads everywhere make life-changing connections with their daughters, simply by doing their hair.
