Wife Gets Scared When Husband Approaches In Tears. But The Note He Hands Her Blesses Them Immensely.

Chris Garrett is a veteran of the conflict in Afghanistan. Sustaining a serious pelvic injury during his deployment, life changed quickly for the wounded warrior. After undergoing rehabilitation Chris was able to walk, but certain tasks remained hard for him. Mowing his family’s large lot with a push mower was easily the toughest part of his week.

While spending time at home with the family, Brittany Garrett looked up and saw her husband holding their young son in the doorway on verge of tears. His behavior seemed so off that she assumed something terrible had happened, but it couldn’t have been farther from the truth… He held a note in his hands with a beautifully selfless message.

Brittany wrote on Facebook…

“Where do I begin? Something AMAZING happened today! As I was getting ready for my day, my husband appeared at the door with tears in his eyes holding our son. My heart sank and I thought someone we love took a trip to Heaven… He quickly assured me that no one had died, but someone had just given him a very expensive riding lawn mower!

“I don’t know who they are, but they have been watching my 100% combat disabled husband push mow our entire yard once or twice a week, and thought this would help make more time for the important things in life!!! THANK YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE!!! You don’t know how much pain this is going to save him from!!!”

Chris finally got to “break in the new beast” on Monday. Once again, his Brittany took to Facebook to praise the random act of kindness.

The anonymous donor gave Chris the greatest gift of all… more time with his family. A chore that would take hours with the push mower was shaved down to just over 15 minutes, leaving many more for making memories. We all should try to help veterans in need!
