Ensure people in the poorest countries of the world have access to safe drinking water.

“Ryan’s Well provides effective and sustainable solutions to the water crisis in the poorest regions of the world’s developing countries.”

In countries like Uganda and Kenya, many people must walk miles per day to collect drinking water. The trouble is, only 1 in 2 people have access to a safe water source – the consequences of which are staggering. UNICEF reports that 5,000 children die every day of waterborne illnesses and millions more are terribly at risk.

That is why Ryan’s Well was created: to provide effective and sustainable solutions to the water crisis in the poorest regions of the world’s developing countries. Ryan’s Well facilitates the planning and construction of safe water stations throughout Africa and are months away from completing their 1,000th well. Since their beginning in 2001, Ryan’s Well has improved the lives of more than 1 million vulnerable people through the construction of sustainable water projects.

Ryan’s Well grew from the passion and courage of one 6-year-old boy, Ryan Hreljac. Ryan was inspired to take action as a first-grade student, when he learned of the devastating consequences wrought on people without access to safe drinking water. Ryan rallied friends and family for the funds he needed to build his first well in Uganda, Africa – one well that has changed everything.
