This Week's Purpose: Give Alaska's Wildlife A Chance To Recover From Manmade Disaster.
“The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to conservation, education, and quality animal care of Alaska’s wildlife.”
Nearly 30 years ago, the Exxon-Valdez oil spill decimated the coastal wildlife population of Alaska. This tragic disaster coupled with logging and mining operations have left many animals devoid of natural habitat and at risk to injury and displacement as their territory disappears.
That is why the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center was created: to take in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Any animal that cannot be rehabilitated is kept permanently in the center and given a place to live out their days.
It’s a noble cause that deserves everyone’s respect! So help us give injured animals of the last great American frontier the chance to thrive. All you have to do is watch and share InspireMore stories. The more you do that, the more advertisers pay us, and the more we are able to give to this important cause! Get started today; let’s make a difference.
