Houston Mom Pleas With Internet To Find Lost Baby, Then Sees Her Picture Online.

Sacrifice is part of any parent’s job description.

When Dajauh Zhane Henix and her little girl were caught in neck-deep floodwaters in Harris County, Texas, the mom knew what she had to do: anything she could to make sure her baby was rescued. Miraculously, help came, but instead of thinking about herself first, Dajauh sacrificed her own safety to ensure her little girl got out of the water immediately.

Dajauh and her baby were spotted by Harris County police officers, and when they got to the struggling pair, mom gave her baby to one officer and they quickly drove off.

Luckily, another officer was able to rescue the young mother, too, but Dajauh soon realized that she was headed to a different location than her little girl.

In an effort to locate her, Dajauh posted to social media asking for help.

But while mom was frantically searching for her little girl, the constable who had rescued the child was looking for the baby’s mother!

Constable Christopher E. Diaz wrote on Facebook: “We are trying to find the mother to this baby. The mother was last seen wearing a purple shirt on South Lake Houston parkway.”

He clarified that “the families were in neck deep water with swift currents.” According to the Harris County constable, “Corporal Reed Clark put the baby on a jet ski and took the baby to a truck with a boat. The mother and child got separated.”

Amazingly, it wasn’t long before the mother was found! Hundreds of people worked together and found Dajauh on social media and thousands more shared the story to raise awareness.

Deputies from the Harris County Police Department made sure that mom and baby were quickly reunited.

And the internet rejoiced!

Constable Chris wrote, “This mother did what any great parent would do. She realized how fast and deep the water current was…She put her babies life ahead of her own and asked for us to take the baby to higher ground. The baby was in great hands and we made sure she was reunited with her Mother.”

This story could have ended very differently, but thankfully, this mom did whatever she could do to save her baby.
