Family Act Brings 6 Circus Dogs On Stage, Wows Judges With Vegas-Worthy Performance.

The Pompeyo family recently wowed judges and the audience with their 1950s act involving five very talented poodles.

Poodles aren’t ranked No. 1 in intelligence for nothing! Jorge and Natalya Pompeyo hope to have their own show in Vegas one day, and had the opportunity to show off some of their dogs’ skills during a recent episode of America’s Got Talent.

The husband-and-wife team stood with one of their two daughters, Katerina, and six of their 18 dogs — yes, you read that right — onstage, all dressed in 1950s-era costumes complete with poodle skirts. Most of their four-legged family members are rescue dogs, Natalya told the panel, and “We love (them) like our kids … It’s just part of our lives.â€

These five poodles, all athletes to the bone, did everything from jumping rope to walking across the stage, with one even doing a six-second handstand (paw stand?) on Jorge’s hand.

Especially impressive was the little white miniature poodle, who did a walking handstand from one end of the stage to the other, its little back legs moving like a piston!

“Look at the little legs in the back!”Tyra squealed.

Jorge, who was born in Colombia and comes from a long line of circus performers, has previously worked as an acrobat, flying trapeze artist and high-wire walker. Natalya, born in Kazakhstan, trained in competitive gymnastics and transferred those skills to the circus, where she worked as an acrobat.

They actually only got into the dog-training business on accident, when Jorge was given two dogs in lieu of payment.

Can you even begin to imagine how many hours went into this kind of training? Watch the video below to see this class act in action.
