16 Things I Wish I Knew As A College Freshman

college freshman

It’s back to school time and that signals a huge, pivotal change for many students starting new chapters in their lives. I wish I had someone tell me the do’s and don’ts of college when I was starting out! It’s confusing having a ton of newfound freedom and a wide open schedule, plus navigating a new social setting and living on your own. Here are my top tips to get you through the craziness of college and prepare you for what comes after.

1. Read the syllabus BEFORE classes start!

Trust me, you need to do this. Some professors assign reading before the class even starts, some don’t, but you definitely don’t want to be called on by the teacher the first day and not have a clue what to say. You’ll look super prepared and the professor will love you and think you’re a genius. Brownie points!! The syllabus also has info on books and other class materials, which takes us to my next tip.
